Executive Chef Christopher Corby is the founding Executive Chef and an owner of Wildwood. Wildwood’s hard earned reputation for high quality and consistency across a broad and varied menu is a direct reflection of the energy and talent Chef Corby possesses.
He is responsible for all aspects of menu design, product procurement, food preparation, kitchen staff development and quality control.
His informative and entertaining cooking classes cover a wide range of cuisines and ingredients and are held approximately six times each year.
Chef Corby began his cooking career in Detroit at a very early age. He was accepted in the American Culinary Federations Apprenticeship program and apprenticed at the Lark, a prestigious four star restaurant in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and Chez Raphael, a five star restaurant located in Novi, Michigan. After his apprenticeship, Chef Corby accepted the position of Chef de Cuisine at the Garfield Inn, an upscale Bed & Breakfast in northern Michigan.
Chef Corby came to Chicago in 1995 and prior to joining Wildwood was the Sous Chef at D&J Bistro in Lake Zurich, the Executive Sous Chef of the North Shore Country Club in Glenview and the Executive Chef for the Emmett’s Tavern & Ale House concept in the Chicago-land area.
